There is a Niger bird feeder outside my studio that I can see when I am painting. I never tire looking at these very colorful little birds. There must be thirty of them eating out there right now. It was easy to take a photograph as reference for this painting that enabled me to get a good likeness. Aren't they just the sweetest little things ever!
